REVIEW: LADY MIDNIGHT BY CASSANDRA CLARE

What it is about
Emma is the best shadowhunter of her generation and she lives in the LA institute with her best friend and patabatai, Julian. Julian practically runs the institute because his uncle has severe PTSD after being tortured. He also takes care of his siblings and is basically a parent. Julian and Emma start realising their feelings for each other, cold peace doesn’t seem to be appeasing all parties involved and something strange is going on in Los Angeles.

POV- third person 

HEA/HFN- NO, major cliffhanger 

Funny parts- yes 

Sad parts- yes

Love triangle- no

Insta-love- no

Cheating- no 

Super insecure character- yes but Julian has his reasons 

World building- 5/5

Trigger warning- death, murder, war, torture, deaths of loved ones 

Realistic scale- 0/5

Pick this up if
You want an amazing, fast paced and thrilling urban fantasy. You like books with multiple sub-plots that start interconnecting. You like forbidden, angsty romances. You like adventure and action. You like a good family dynamic. You like cinnamon bun heroes. You want cameos from previous characters. 

Don’t pick this up if
You hate extremely long books. You hate it when characters do dumb things. You’re not into character driven books. You haven’t read (or read but didn’t like) Cassandra Clare’s previous books.
