REVIEW: THE MISSING YEARS BY LEXIE ELLIOTT

What it is about- Ailsa and her half sister movies into an old Scottish house that their mom left them. Ailsa’s father disappeared years ago so she can’t sell the house since it’s in both hers and her father’s name. When she gets to the small Scottish town, she meets a friend group and develops tentative friendships with them.

POV- first person from Ailsa

HEA/HFN- yes

Funny parts- no

Sad parts- yes

Scary level- 2/5

Gore- 2/5

Trigger warning- death, murder, abuse, violence, grief

Realistic scale- 2/5

Pick this up if- You want a mystery set in a small Scottish town. You like old mysteries. You like it when the book makes you question if it’s paranormal or not. You like a slow buildup. 

Don’t pick this up if- You want something action packed. You hate convenient storylines.
